Apocalyptic Project Part 1

Apocalyptic Project Part 1

Evening internet! Today I have some 28-32mm miniatures to show you. As you'd gather from the title, all models are themed for the creation of the hypothetical end of western civilization. Some inspired from film, others from suspiciously familiar computer games. Also as what the title would imply, this is the beginning of a ongoing project. So there will be much, much , much more. So be sure to revisit! All mini's within this entry are assembled (when applicable) and painted by yours truly. From beasts to paladins you'll find below. Enjoy.

First up are a trio of Brother Vinni's 30mmish Post-Apoc Citizens. Painted to resemble/serve as the "Vault Dweller", protagonist of the original Fallout.

Next are some 28mm Heresy Miniatures Inspectors. These serve as excellent Vault Dwellers. Note the pale skin from there life underground.

Here are some Euerka Miniatures's "Toxic Zombies", painted to resemble feral ghouls and glowing ones. Ideally to look like the ones from New Vegas/3 and prior. Basically the pre-Fallout 4 Ghouls.

Since we've seen some Vault dwellers and Ghouls next we should see the Mutants. A couple of Brother Vinni's Apoc Ogres. Two of the same model. One painted as a particularly angry Super Mutant Brute. The other, an even angrier Nightkin. Painted in the vain of the New Vegas's interpretation of Nightkin, fitted with the mighty bumper-sword! Amazing what some putty, plastic and paint can do!

Also from Brother Vinni's, a small squad of Brotherhood Paladins pays us a visit. Fitted in T-45 power armor (presumably from the Capital Wasteland), and marching stoically.

As for the technology (or jalopies), we have some Brother Vinni's Robots. Two Protectrons, and one Mister Gutsy. One of the Protectrons was painted to resemble a Nuka-Cola Security Bot straight out of the Nuka-Cola headquarters. The Gutsy was painted in honor of Sargent RL-3. "Place my medals upon my chest! TELL MY MOMMA, I'VE DONE MY BEST!"

Next we have a Brother Vinni's  (seeing a pattern?) Mountain Horror painted to resemble a Fallout 3/New Vegas Deathclaw. Noticeably larger than some of the other models (40mmish). Last photo is for perspective. Sorry for the blurry image.

Now it wouldn't be a wasteland without wastelanders. Next are various minis from various manufacturers. First two are from Crooked Dice, Road Agents 3. The Third Miniature is a promotional mini of the mascot/cover girl that came with the rules for the game "This Is Not A Test". The fourth miniature is a Gorgon miniature of a WW2 French Foreign Legion grenadier in North African kit. Obviously not originally intended for the apocalyptic setting, but I couldn't resist. I sought to include him as tribute to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's French post-apocalyptic film Delicatessen. A personal favorite of mine. Five  is of a Warlord games Konflikt 47 Bersaglieri, fitted in gladiator-like power-armor. Intended as a wasteland gladiator of sorts. The final mini was essentially scratch built. Originally a HeroClix Wonderman (Shout-out to Chris Crumpler's bad-ass blog for the idea) modified with head and gear from a Warlord Games WW2  U.S.M.C plastic box set. He serves as a traveling wasteland merchant. Pack Brahmin coming soon!

Thanks for stoppin! Part 2 Coming soon!
