Apocalyptic Project Part 2

Apocalyptic Project Part 2

11/8/2019

Evening friends, the follow up is finally here! The next series of Apocalyptic minis. No pack Brahman though. Where as the last article covered mostly Fallout inspired models this article is a bit more varied. Honestly, I kinda just painted whatever inspired me. They sorta fit though, right?
I'll let you be the judge.

Speaking of Judges, these first few are part of Lead Adventures's Street Judges pack. Apparently sculpted by a Russian, than sold by a German  (Lead Adventures is a German company), to than be imported by an American.  Being a fan of the Metro series I simply had to have them, and so the Polis Rangers were born!

And a back-shot. No innuendo, please.

Also from Lead Adventures, these are there "Road Guard" set. The set is part of a line known as the "Last Project". Inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro series, these guy's have no shortage of details. Note the Russian urban camo on the second to left model. The fellow in the center I Imagine as the protagonist Artyom from the games/novels.

And where would a post-apocalyptic Russia be without casualties? Yet more models from Lead Adventures, these guys are slain  S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s or scavengers. Note the varying skin-tone on the different corpse's. Obviously not everyone dies at the same time.

These two N.S.D.A.P. Officers were a conversion of spare heads from Secret Weapon Miniatures and the bodies from a plastic Warlord Game's winter Germans box set. These guy's will make excellent Officers for Metro's Reich Station or any weird war and pulp scenarios.

This  group could be tilted miscellaneous apoc minis. The two to the left are from Brother Vinni miniatures, the two to the right are from Hasslefree miniatures. Featured here are a mysterious French mutant femme fatale Sniper, a lone paladin in
T-51b power armor equipped with a Winchester P94 Plasma Rifle, a Asian amputee women turned mercenary, and a deranged little girl with a make-shift flamethrower. Pretty cool, right?

These Ladies(?) are from Grekwood Miniatures. Originally the models were sculpted after the Nurses from the Silent Hill films and later games, I instead opted to convert them to resemble the bubble-head  Nurses of Silent Hill 2. Another favorite of mine. But really, who doesn't love that one? Bases made using clay, an exacto knife and some clever painting. Intended to simulate the filthy tile floors of Brookhaven hospital.

This lot is none other than my Enclave Forces. All minis save the the officer are from Brother Vinni miniatures, the officer is a Rebel Miniatures model. Unfortunately most of these guys are out of production.  The Standard bearer is a conversion from Mad Robot minis. The Heavy weapons guy in Tesla Armor is also a conversion, the coils being made from scrap plastic. For Eden!

This mighty Deathclaw is apart of Modiphius's Wasteland Warfare Fallout Skirmish game. The models are overwhelmingly inspired from Fallout 4. Far from my favorite, hence I didn't pick up much from this game. The Deathclaw is perhaps one of the great exceptions of the redesigns of 4, a truly wonderful imagining. The Model was a lot of fun to paint, too.

A quick comparison of the  Modiphius model with the Brother Vinni Deathclaw. In terms of design, both models are about as handsome as the examples there sculpted after.  Suspiciously, the Fallout 4 Deathclaw is perhaps more demonic. At this time Bethesda had recently bought Id software, the creators of the Doom series. who were also in the midst of producing Doom 2016. Coincidence?

The beginning of  my raiders. Everyone save the Gas mask raider on the far left are from Crooked Dice miniatures. As for her she is from Hasslefree.  Characters featured, left to right: Gas Mask Girl raider addition, Wez from Max Max Road Warrior, The Ayatollah of rock n' rolla' Lord Humungus antagonist of Mad Max Road Warrior, Master Blaster of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, a particularly fearsome raider equipped with a buzzsaw, a colored raider armed with a machete and yield sign turned shield, and another female raider armed with a shotgun.

Thank you for your patronage, till next time!
