Black Friday Thanks BUG-Giving Event 19'

On November 29th in honor of the holidays Gerard of Camino Gamers hosted a annual event known as Thanks Bug-Giving, a particularly brutal session of Mongoose game's Starship Troopers table top game.
The objective was to get the technician to a bunker at the end of the forest towards the center of the table. Only problem was it happened to be on a carnivorous bug infested planet. The technician as well as the Starship Troopers began at the crashed shuttle towards the west. Meanwhile, our reinforcements appeared across the board to the east. Long story short, mutual support was out of the question.
When the game began, the bugs were unaware of our presence. As we approached the forest however that quickly changed. Initially they came out of the foliage, but as it turn out like the films, the bugs had a network of tunnels underground and soon were emerging across the field. Our only option was to wear it and bear it as we marched across the table attempting to get the techy evacuated.
Surprisingly The Techy would reach the bunker and the Starship Troopers would take minimal casualties. Our reinforcements seemed to have had most of the aggro and thus sustained most of the losses. Though I suspect our success was also largely attributed by the capability of commanders James and Jim. For thanks to there strategic prowess the the bug onslaught was fended off, buying the author's squad time to escort the techy to the objective, winning us the game.
It was my first time trying it, and it treated us pretty well. Thanks for reading and happy holidays!
